Datarails pricing (2026): what buyers actually pay

Datarails is quote-only. Here's what the third-party data says buyers pay, what moves the number, and the AI-connector cost question to settle before you sign.

The short answer

Datarails doesn't publish a price list. The best independent number is Vendr's buyer data: a median of $33,300 per year, with a low–high range of $16,231 to $62,037 [1]. Datarails' own September 2026 comparison guide gives a higher band — about $25K per year for smaller teams, $40K–$80K for mid-market and $100K+ for enterprise [8]; its older cost guide put mid-market at $35K–$80K [2] — possibly reflecting larger, multi-module deals. Treat the Vendr median as where negotiations start for a typical mid-market team, not where they end.

Plans

Datarails sells tiered packages (Professional, Premium and Expert per its cost guide [2]), each priced by quote. Tier names and inclusions change; ask for the module list in writing rather than relying on tier names.

What drives your quote

  • Users and entities. More contributors and more legal entities to consolidate push you up the range.
  • Modules. Planning, consolidation, reporting, cash and AI products are often scoped separately.
  • Integrations. The number of source systems (ERP, HRIS, CRM) that need connectors and mapping.
  • Implementation. Onboarding services can be a line item separate from subscription. Ask for it in year-one total cost.

The AI line item: read the fine print

Datarails ships a generative assistant (Genius) [7] and announced Strategy, Planning and Reporting AI agents alongside a $70M raise in January 2026 [6]. Its FinanceOS MCP connector lets Claude and ChatGPT query your Datarails data, and it's listed in Claude's connector directory [5].

Conflict to resolve before signing. The connector's technical documentation says it "is a paid feature" requiring "an active FinanceOS AI connector subscription" [3]. Our October 2026 research found the pricing page describing AI agents and the FinanceOS connector as included on all plans [4]. Ask your rep which is true for your contract and get it on the order form.

What the connector does today, per Datarails' docs [3]: every published tool is read-only (no write-back, no formula or model edits); Claude and ChatGPT are enabled by default; Microsoft Copilot is listed as "coming soon". See the connector tracker for the live status.

Negotiation checklist

  1. Anchor on the Vendr median ($33,300) and range, not the vendor's mid-market band.
  2. Get year-one total cost: subscription + implementation + any AI connector subscription.
  3. Ask whether AI features consume credits or usage, and what happens when you run out.
  4. Lock renewal caps; ask for multi-year pricing only if you'd commit anyway.

FAQ

How much does Datarails cost per year?

Datarails does not publish prices. Vendr reports a median of $33,300 per year across its buyer data, with a low–high range of $16,231 to $62,037. Datarails' 2026 comparison guide states typical annual ranges of about $25K for smaller finance teams, $40K–$80K for mid-market and $100K+ for enterprise (an older Datarails cost guide said $35K–$80K for mid-market).

How much is Datarails per month?

Datarails sells annual contracts, not monthly plans. Dividing the Vendr median of $33,300 by 12 gives roughly $2,775 per month as a reference point, not a quoted price.

Is the Datarails AI connector for Claude and ChatGPT included?

It is unclear. Datarails' technical documentation says the FinanceOS MCP connector "is a paid feature" requiring a FinanceOS AI connector subscription, while the pricing page has described AI agents and the connector as included on all plans. Get it in writing in your order form.
